Avenge The Sin - Atonement

So this is going to be a little bit different than the usual black metal reviews I do. I can’t deny that I like some deathcore from time to time. Especially the filthy low guttural vocals with fat bass drop type of bands. By scrolling through Bandcamp, I found this band from Adelaide, Australia. The artwork caught my attention and I started listening to their brutal music.
Their first EP contains 6 filthy songs filled with symphonic deathcore. If you can call it that. Why symphonic? The songs are filled with totally not overdone symphonic elements that fit smoothly into the brutal tunes. At several times throughout the album, my face decides to change its apparel. The EP is a very good produced especially for a first release of Avenge The Sin. You wouldn’t find symphonic elements anywhere near deathcore of this calibre but Avenge the Sin have taken the challenge and they made it theirs. Even though it is a 2016 release, the music still impresses me to this day. Well, this kind of deathcore Avenge The Sin makes could also applies to maybe fans of the heavier death metal bands. The amazing blast beats mixed with great fills and technical guitar and bass work will certainly apply to the fans of beginning deathcore fans or fans of the heavier death metal bands. The breakdowns aren’t over done which is great thing to hear. Usually beginning deathcore bands have the focus way to much on the heaviness of the breakdown instead of the whole song or even album. Avenge The Sin really balances it out but puts an extra brutal element into the breakdowns they have. That Is what I really love about ‘Atonement’. It just goes on like a freaking freight train.
Absolutely vile and disgusting and it also has that element of surprise which are the synth’s. That is what makes this EP so special.
